 Optimizing your Home Office

If you are like many Americans who find themselves working from home, did you know the color you paint your home office has a direct correlation to your productivity, concentration and motivation levels?

According to Alison Goldman, Marketing Communications Manager for CIL Paints “There are always distractions when working from home, yet studies show that while some colors divert from tasks at hand, others can significantly increase a person’s productivity, concentration and motivation”.

Below are a number of colors that will aid a persons productivity. Thinking about what your job entails and what kind of environment you want to create, check out the options below:

  • Blue – Can be calming and lower your pulse rate while increasing productivity.
  • Yellow – Known to be cheerful.
  • Red and Orange – Both colors promote excitement and enthusiasm.
  • Purple – Is thought to promote artistic creativity.
  • Green – Can relieve stress as the color creates a serene and soothing atmosphere.
  • Light Browns and Grays – Like green, they provide a feeling of serenity.
